This was my second tour with Liz. Last weekend 5 of my friends and I went on a tour of South Williamsburg! It was fantastic! Liz is really tapped into the food scene all over Manhattan and recommends the best places. We had a wide variety, from a cheese monger, to a Vietnamese restaurant, on to the best beef brisket sandwich I've ever had! We stopped at various shops and learned a lot about the changing neighborhoods. We finished with a chocolate tasting and cocktails at a beer garden!
My previous tour was of the Lower East Side. Everywhere we went was better than the previous one! We started at an appetizer store, then a knishery. Both locations were family owned since the early 1900's. We also went to a deli, cheese monger, and ended with an egg cream. It was all accompanied by history of old New York and the evolution of the Lower East Side.
Liz is friendly, professional and most of all knowledgeable of the different locations. She truly has a love of food and the city. A tour not to be missed! -Trish K., Boston, MA
Today 15 of my friends and I toured Hell's Kitchen with Liz. We had a great experience, visited restaurants, grocery stores and specialty shops, and basically ate our way up and down 9th Avenue. Liz is a real professional and you are guaranteed a great culinary experience when you go with her. This was my 4th tour with Liz and I highly recommend taking the following tours: Tribeca, West Village, Battery Park and Hell's Kitchen. -Marcye G., Spring Lake, NJ
We became acquainted with Liz Young Tours via our Sur La Table Taste of the Big Apple week end last spring. Liz conducted a tour of the Lower East Side with tastings, insider tips, and historical background. We couldn't wait to book two more tours when we returned to New York this fall. This time we toured Arthur Ave in the Bronx and Williamsburg in Brooklyn. We enjoy Liz Young's unique presentation, her knowledge of the area and a local perspective. Her relationship with the purveyors along the way is genuine and gives her guests a chance to interact with them and ask questions. We always end our tours filled with food and information. -Pucgal, Miami, FL

Liz took us an easy paced, but slowly filling half-day tour of Williamsburg (Brooklyn) with her friend. It was, in one word, fabulous! Liz was very knowledgeable about the history of the area, its people and food. She was like a culinary expert mashed with a history teacher. She was known in every place we went so we got to see the more than the usual diner/shopper. On top of that, she was just really fun to walk around with...her sense of humor was great.
The tour was personalized for us and Liz paid for all the plates so we didn't have to waste time in each location figuring all that out.
We highly recommend Liz for your culinary tour of anywhere that she may go! -SM_by_the_zoo, Washington, D.C.
